A man wrongly imprisoned for more than 2 decades is getting a little help towards his future.

Lamonte McIntyre was falsely convicted in a double murder and spent 23 years locked up for a crime he didn't commit. But he didn't waste that time, earning himself 40 college credit hours.

Now he'll have the chance to finish his business administration degree thanks to Metropolitan Community College.

Penn Valley President Dr. Tyjaun Lee says they were so inspired by Lamonte's story that they're giving him a scholarship.

The scholarship also includes books for his classes and help to transition back into the workforce.
