Kansas City, MO - There is a lot of chrome and carburetors in Bartle Hall this weekend as 700 collector cars are sold on the auction block.

This is the second time that Mecum Auctions has held an event in Kansas City this year.

"This is an opportunity for buyers and sellers of classic and antique cars to come together and look for that treasure they've been looking for, for a long time," said Mecum CEO Dave Magers.

The company specializes in collector cars of all types - from the first cars of the early 1900's to exotic late model european cars, and everything in between. Including American muscle cars from the 60s & 70's.

"These are the cars that people like me had in high school that they always wanted back," said Magers. "Or the car they wanted in high school and couldn't afford but now they've got some cash so they're looking for it."

Magers says they've auctioned off about 15,000 autos this year worth a collective half-billion dollars.

No need to be a seller or a bidder, the auction is open to the public through Saturday December 2nd, with a ticket.
