Kansas City, KS - The Verruckt water slide at the Schlitterbahn water park in KCK is scheduled to finally be torn down, two years after it was permanently closed following the death of a 10-year-old boy.

The slide has remained in place due to ongoing legal and criminal investigations.

An attorney with the Schlitterbahn park said that the company will begin to tear the slide down after Labor Day and that it should take about three weeks to finish the deconstruction.

Multiple charges have been brought against the park, the company's owner, and the designers of the ride including second degree murder and manslaughter in the death of Caleb Schwab in August of 2016.
