Blue Springs Police say three teenage boys lost their lives in a two-vehicle crash.

The boys were in a car that struck an SUV near Northwest Indian Hills and Northwest Duncan around 8 p.m. Saturday, police said. Two of the boys were 15 years old. The other was 16. All were from Blue Springs. Names were not immediately released.

Friends of the youngsters showed up at a makeshift memorial near the crash site.

"He was just a very outstanding, great, talented kid," said one young mourner. "He was just too young."

The person in the SUV was checked out and released from a hospital.
