Police at the University of Kansas say crime is on the rise on the campus.

KU's main Lawrence campus saw a 2% uptick in crime last year. The greatest changes were in the areas of theft and property damage, said Police Chief Chris Keary.

"There was no correlation other than, overall, the amount of theft that we see, which we have seen over the years, has increased a little bit, and so has criminal damage to property," Keary said.

Bike thefts continue to be a problem. In many cases, thieves are cutting off chains and locks.
