Special prosecutor to handle Pledger case in WYCO

Kansas City, KS -  The office of the new District Attorney for Wyandotte County announced today that a special prosecutor will take over the case against Tamika Pledger.  

Pledger is the community activist who is accused of running down several teenagers with a car in what she says was an effort to protect a family member during a fight.  One of the teens died and three others suffered serious injury.

Today, the WYCO Prosecutor released a statement explaining the addition of a special prosecutor: Due to conflicts with the current administration, as well as the past administration, the Tamika Pledger case has been a appointed a special prosecutor.  Going forward, all manners, or stages of this case, will be handled by Special prosecutor, James Spies.

The case is set for jury trial February 6, 2017 at 9:00AM.
