With more than two weeks to go before Halloween, Kansas City has already received its first measurable snowfall of the season.

The National Weather Service office in Pleasant Hill said it had measured 0.2 inches of snow late Sunday. The Oct 14 snowfall beats the previous record for earliest snowfall by three days. Kansas City had 3.3 inches of snow on Oct. 17, 1898.

The temperature at KCI Airport also set a record. At 31 degrees, the airport had its coldest recorded temperature ever for Oct. 15. The previous record of 32 was set in 1943.
