The KMBZ City Spotlight on Belton & Raymore, Missouri includes the Sloan Tribby cabin.

The cabin was dismantled in the summer of 2015 piece by piece, with each piece labeled and stored for reconstruction in Belton's Memorial Park.

For years, the 1840s cabin was hidden inside a more modern home built around it (pictured).

After Jayhawkers sacked Morristown, Missouri and Quantrill raided Lawrence, Kansas - two Union leaders met at a log cabin near the Morristown ruins - a few miles to the south of Belton - to work out details of Order No. 11, according to the Cass County Historical Society.

Order No. 11 in 1863 forced the evacuation of rural areas in four western Missouri counties.

Many homesteads were burned in response to the Union Army order, but the 18-by-20-foot Sloan Tribby cabin was left unscathed.
