Kansas City, MO - Police are warning anyone who lives or works downtown about significant issues with freedom of movement during the Presidential visit Tuesday, July 24th.

President Trump is coming to Kansas City for a fundraising luncheon and a speech at the VFW's annual convention.  Both events are closed to the public.

Trump's speech is scheduled for 11am at Municipal Auditorium.

However, KCPD says shutdown will last much of the day, beginning after the morning rush hour and reopening by the evening rush.

No specifics given as to which streets will be closed off, and how far out the security cordon will be.

However, KCPD says the Secret Service will be blocking off a large area around the convention center to include parking garages and lots.

Sidewalks in the security cordon will also be locked down - no foot traffic allowed.  Office workers and others downtown won't be able to walk to lunch.

Police say protesters will be "allowed" near 13th and Washington.

Also expect rolling street, highway and interstate closures as the presidential motorcade rolls from KCI to downtown and back.
