Police officers in Grandview will be sharing lunch with High School Seniors as part of a new initiative.

Pizza with Police is part of the Move Toward the Badge initiative, a new community engagement program. Officers will spend the next four months, sitting down at lunch with every senior at Grandview High School.

Officer Monica Romero is a rookie with the department. She says the program is one reason why she became a police officer. "Being a black female I want to be a part of the change." She adds, "I want to be part of the movement that tells people that police are here to protect people".

As part of the program, Seniors were asked to complete a survey measuring their thoughts and attitudes toward law enforcement officers.

Early results show many students have positive interactions with the School Resource Officer, but would like to see more officers and positive police events at the school.
