Today, Purinton was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for a federal hate crime stemming from the February 2017 shooting of three men - killing one, wounding two - at Austin's Bar and Grill in Olathe, Kansas.

Adam Purinton already pled guilty and was sentenced in Kansas state court to 78 years, essentially life in prison, for murder and attempted murder.

Purinton admitted in federal court earlier this year to targeting Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani - both of India - due to their race, color, and national origin.

Kuchibhotla was killed, Madasani was wounded.

A third man, Ian Grillot of Olathe, was wounded as he attempted to stop Purinton as he fled the scene.
