NKC officer shot in the head with flare gun

North Kansas City, MO - A homeless man faces charges in an officer-involved shooting in North Kansas City.

Jeremy Bowles is accused of shooting a flare gun at officers who were trying to arrest him after being accused of making threats at the Quik Trip on Burlington.

Officer Rick Landon was struck in the head with a flare leaving a gash on his head.

The officers returned fire and Bowles fled into a ravine.  He was captured a few minutes later. 

He's now charged with assault, armed criminal action and resisting arrest.
