Basketball fans will again pour into Kansas City's Sprint Center Thursday afternoon, with the University of Kansas the featured attraction in the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional Final.

Big 12 Commissioner Tim Allen is organizing the weekend's events. The conference tries to pattern the Big 12 Championship to the style of the NCAA Tournament.

"The reason we do that is so our teams going into the NCAA Tournament have that experience, from how they check in, to how the band and cheerleaders check in and perform, the locker room assignments, all of those types of things -- we try to pattern it after the NCAA," Allen said.

Thursday's first game is 6:10 p.m. between Michigan and Oregon. Kansas plays Purdue following the early game, with a tip-off at about 8:39 p.m.
