Grandview, MO - Students were given a lesson in unsafe driving today as they watched rescuers respond to a mock crash in front of their high school.

The air at Grandview High was filled with fake smoke, screams and sirens in the bi-annual demonstration for juniors and seniors.

Every two years, just before prom, the Grandview Fire Department holds the mock crash to highlight the dangers faced by teens when they get behind the wheel.

The scenario depicts two cars that have crashed head-on, and student actors play the role of the injured. Firefighters and police then arrive, and demonstrate what a real response would look like.
