Kansas City, MO - Major League Baseball and its player's association have jointly donated $1 million dollars to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred and players association executive director Tony Clark were on hand to present the $1 million donation to NLBM president Bob Kendrick at the museum in KC's 18th & Vine District.

Some of the funds will go toward the continued refurbishing of the new Buck O'Neil Education and Research Center - the old Paseo YMCA where the Negro Leagues charter was signed in 1920.

According to the Kansas City Star, the $1 million donation matches a gift from Julia Irene Kauffman as the biggest in the history of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
