Kansas City, MO - A man previously convicted of possessing child pornography was sentenced to 10 years in prison for printing off images of child porn from a Kansas City library in 2017.

Court records show that David R. Buie, 63, of Kansas City, printed off about 50 pages from a computer he was using at the Mid-Continent Public Library at 9253 Blue Ridge Blvd. in July 2017.

He was discovered when the toner in the printer ran low and only about half of the pages printed.  Buie left the library. Once the toner was replaced, the print job finished and library staff discovered the images.

The print job was associated with Buie's library card.

Buie told investigators that he visited various public libraries about once a week to view child obscenity anime. Buie said he often printed the images on the library’s printer.

Buie was found guilty in May and today U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Bough sentenced him to 10 years and one month in federal prison without parole. Following the prison sentence, Buie will have a lifetime of supervised release.
