A water rescue team from Shawnee, KS is just one of the agencies deploying to Texas to assist residents who are still dealing with deep floodwater following the historic deluge brought by Hurricane-turned-Tropical Storm Harvey.

The Shawnee team left in the middle of the night (photo below) and is heading to College Station, Texas where they'll get their orders. They expect to be gone until September 6.

Multiple Kansas agencies are deploying to the flood zone with rescue personnel, hard-bottom boats, air boats, and inflatable boats.

The Kansas Adjutant General's Office says the Kansas teams will search for and transport any people and animals stranded by flood waters. They will also provide basic life support and medical care, while supporting helicopter and urban search and rescue efforts.
