An Olathe mother, accused of attempted capital murder in the poisoning of her three children, has been found competent to stand trial.

A Johnson County judge Monday ruled that Therese Roever, 37, is able to assist in her defense in a trial. The ruling followed a mental evaluation.

According to court documents, two of Roever's three children nearly died in February after ingesting some type of prescription medication. Roever remains in the Johnson County jail on a $1 million bond.

The father of the children told a 911 dispatcher his ex-wife told him she intentionally overdosed on drugs and had given his children pills as well. Therese Roever lost custody of the children after a divorce and had been granted unsupervised visitation.

Roever's next court date is set for July 20.
