The name of the contractor for the KCI terminal project is still up in the air, but at least one speed bump has been removed.

Kansas City's ethics commission has dismissed a citizen's complaint against selection committee co-chair Jolie Justus. She works for law firm Shook, Hardy and Bacon, which did legal work for Burns & McDonnell, one of the bidding contractors. The case was not related to the airport project.

Justus, who requested an immediate hearing before the ethics commission, believes the 11th hour complaint was politically-motivated. The commission cleared Justus unanimously.

"Someone who either does not want KCI to have new a single terminal or someone who, frankly, is just not a fan of the proposers, or who's part of the process," Justus said.

The committee was expected to name the winning bidder this week.  That is delayed until at least next Tuesday.
