A guilty plea and 18 years in Westport shooting death of Lee's Summit police officer

A Kansas City man was was sentenced today to 18 years in prison for the fatal shooting of an off-duty Lee's Summit police officer at Californos restaurant in Westport in August 2017.

Sean Steward changed his plea this morning, on the second day of his trial in Jackson County.

Thomas Orr was a school resource officer in Lee's Summit.

He was not the target of the shooting.
