Kansas City, MO -  Groundbreaking for the new single terminal project at the Kansas City International Airport has been set for March 25th at 2pm.

The ceremonial festivities will take place in the parking lot of the shuttered Terminal A.

That empty terminal will eventually be demolished, and the new $1.5 billion single terminal will be constructed on that site.

Once construction is complete, the new terminal will have 39 gates and be more than one million square feet in size, according to Joe McBride, KCI spokesman.

The new single terminal for KCI is the single largest infrastructure project in Kansas City's history.
