For & Against square off in KCI terminal debate on KMBZ

KCMO voters decide November 7th

November 03, 2017 - 7:34 am

Kansas City's Morning News held an on-air debate on the subject of the proposed single-terminal project at Kansas City International Airport.

Kansas City, Missouri residents have the opportunity to vote on the question on November 7th.

Discussing the issue with E.J. & Ellen were Kansas City Councilmember Jolie Justus, who heads the city's airport committee, and is in favor of the single-terminal plan - and Dan Coffey with Citizens for Responsible Government, a group that lobbies against taxes and large government projects, who is opposed.

Justus believes the revamped airport design would lead to a better passenger experience and would attract new business and jobs to the region.

Coffey and his group claim the single-terminal plan would result in huge cost overruns and less convenience at KCI.
