Wild mustangs and burros for sale in KCK

Horse lovers are invited to a public sale of wild horses and burros in Kansas City, Kansas on Friday and Saturday at the Wyandotte County Fairgrounds.

The Bureau of Land Management is selling 50 animals for direct purchase to good homes. Fees begin as low as $25. BLM staff will be there to answer questions.

The sale runs from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. 

All of the horses are adults and yearlings. They were all rounded up after roaming free on lands in the wentern U.S.

The BLM says since 1971, it has placed more than 245,000 wild horses and burrows to approved homes all over the country.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 Western states, including Alaska.
