Winter-weary Kansas City to slowly warm over the coming days

Kansas City, MO - Our long suffering winter may soon be coming to an end.

Bitter cold and snowy weather set in, despite the prediction from that groundhog in Pennsylvania, said Brian Busby, chief meteorologist at KMBC-TV 9.

"He's a rodent, and he gets it wrong every once in a while," Busby said. "This time, he got it wrong big time."

Temperatures are not expected to make sharp increases, but Busby feel safe in saying we are over the worst part of winter.

While the worst of Winter may be over, our Spring severe weather season could be a little bumpier than in the unusually-quiet year of 2018.

Accuweather predicted a nine-percent increase in tornadoes in 2019, which would be slightly fewer than average.
