Kansas City, MO - Evenings are finally starting to warm up again, bringing the crowds back to Westport. All the great entertainment venues in the area draw the crowds on the weekends, particularly to those 21 and over.

Westport has transformed itself to accommodate the crowds, adding safety checkpoints to the pedestrian boundaries after 11 o'clock at night.

The enhanced screening also helps to free up police resources. Starting April 4, the new measures are promising to get crowds in faster with two additional checkpoints and double the number of walk through metal detectors.

The pedestrian only area is between Broadway and Mill street and 40th and Archibald on Pennsylvania Avenue.
