Mr. Bean: Director of Love & Compassion, Facebook

Kansas City, MO - Mr. Bean, is a nine year old Terrier West Highlands mix, originally brought to the Ronald McDonald House by Wayside Waifs. He's spent the last eight years bringing joy to the families that are staying in one of three Houses. Tammy Greenberg with the organization says he brought lots of smiles over the years.

"Mr Bean has been that furry friend to tell all your troubles to, to burry your face in his fur, and to get some love, compassion, support, and some fun," says Greenberg.

The Ronald McDonald House is hosting a pizza pawtee and enjoying cookies with Mr. Bean’s face on them to honor the pup. He'll have his favorite treats and pictures to honor his time serving the families.

Mr Bean plans to spend his retirement at home with his Mom and brother and hopes to get lots of sleep. Greenberg says, "He's still got some pep in his step, you can tell he's just a little older now."

Mr Bean plans to be back periodically for special events.

The loving animal also has his own book created to honor him, titled, The Rule Breaking Pup and the House Full of Love, created by Hallmark.

Greenberg says though they will never be able to replace Mr Bean, they will find a new pup to fill his paw prints.
