Lenexa, KS - Another bridge in Lenexa will be equipped with a system that sprays liquid salt to prevent ice and snow from building up.  The city has used the system for 10 years on two other bridges.

The new bridge is under construction at K-10 and Prairie Star Parkway and should be completed by the end of the year.

"They're not quite automatic yet, we actually have to make a phone call to each bridge and it has a transponder in the system. When you punch in a code it sets the bridge off," says Assistant to the Lenexa Director of Municipal Services, Ted Semadeni.
When the new bridge is complete, staff will be able to activate the system through an app developed by the City's IT department.
