Kansas City, MO - It's a winter like we haven't seen in a few years, and the snow and ice have kept kids out of school quite a bit.

Blue Valley, has had five days off so far, they should know next week what the plans are.

In Shawnee Mission, they've had five days as well.

"It's a little too early to know if they'll add days at the end," explains Chief Communications Officer David Smith, you'd hate to make a decision and then the next week there's another weather event and you have to change your decision."

In Olathe Schools, they've taken three days this winter, but they don't add on at the end, rather they add minutes to a regular day to make up the time.

Over in Lee's Summit, they've taken seven snow days. They're adding those on to the end of the school year.
