Federal agents say they caught 120 offenders and saved 84 minors in a nationwide human trafficking investigation.

Agents in Kansas City say they recovered three juveniles and arrested 10 traffickers.

Operation Cross Country was a four-day program that looked to catch traffickers and recover their young victims through a partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

"So many times people think that this is a crime that only happens in big cities or in large transportation hub areas," said Bridget Patton, FBI spokeswoman in Kansas City. "We want to make sure that people realize that this is a crime that can occur anywhere."

The operation was conducted by 55 FBI field offices and 78 state and local task forces.
