KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- An investigation is underway after FBI agents swarmed an apartment complex at 39th Street and Baltimore Avenue and fired shots at a suspect wanted for a warrant Wednesday.

Kansas City police said Wednesday that federal agents attempted to bring an unidentified individual in on felony charges at the Alcazar Apartments in Westport. Draque Drako owns the barber shop across the street. He said he rarely sees incidents with as many responding officers as he did on Wednesday.

"I've never seen this many police here in a long time," Drako said. "Last time I did, was, I think somebody got killed."

Neighbors in the area are worried about crime at the Alcazar Apartments, and Drako said that far too often, law enforcement officials have to get involved.

"You know, it's just such a regular occur rance, and I feel like its really unfortunate because this is such a prominent area of Kansas City."

The FBI is remaining tight lipped about the shooting, but federal officials did confirm that an agent fired shots at a suspect.

It's not yet known if the suspect was struck by gunfire, and information regarding possible injuries to the agents involved hasn't been released.
