Kansas City, MO - Sir Elton John opened the Sprint Center with a concert in 2007 and 12 years later performed before a packed arena Wednesday night.

Elton John, 71, is in the early part of his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" Tour that is scheduled to continue through 2021.

The legendary entertainer plans to play 300 shows in that time, wrapping up a career that spans five decades.

John wowed the crowd with most of his biggest hits (see the setlist), beginning with "Bennie and the Jets" and ending with an encore of "Your Song" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."

Much of the crowd added their voices to songs they've sung in their cars and showers for 50 years, including "Tiny Dancer," "Rocket Man," "Candle in the Wind," and "Crocodile Rock."
