Kansas City, MO - An agreement has been reached between the new airport terminal developer and the trade unions that would be involved in helping to build it.

Edgemoor managing director Geoffrey Stricker briefed the KCMO city council's airport committee that it had reached an agreement in principle with the unions.

Kansas City Mayor Sly James said when the contracts are signed, it's full speed ahead to begin construction on the new single-terminal at KCI.

Edgemoor also updated committee members on accessibility and sustainability measures for the new terminal. Also, moving sidewalks and electric vehicles.

Stricker also says he's interested in getting more citizen input on the terminal design and will schedule more town hall type meetings to include Johnson County residents.

At the moment, the new KCI is still on track for a fall 2022 opening.
