People generally had high praise for the KCI terminal contractor at its only public design meeting in Johnson County.

More than 20 percent of the passengers who routinely fly in and out of KCI are from Johnson County. Edgemoor Real Estate and Infrastructure hosted a meeting Tuesday evening at KU's Edwards Campus in Overland Park to get input from the public.

The evening started with a general design presentation, followed by small discussion groups with Edgemoor representatives. About 150 people attended.

"What I got out it was the sincerity that they do want to meet the needs of the people," said one woman whose greatest concern was security.

"They guy at our table did a great job of leading (the discussion)," one man said. "He was furiously taking notes."

A memorandum of understanding on KCI is expected to go to the full Kansas City Council on Thursday.
