A church located just a few blocks south of the burned out Royale at CityPlace apartment buildings, and right on the edge of the affected neighborhood, has become a “de-facto” community center following Monday's 8-alarm fire.

The Christ Lutheran Church is coordinating with the Red Cross, service agencies, and merchants to take in and distribute donated food, clothing, and gift cards to people impacted by the fire, along with providing a rest-stop for first responders.

The church's associate pastor Jeff Meyers says it's all about helping neighbors.
