A Kansas City man faces a manslaughter charge after he allegedly refused to stop for police and then caused a deadly crash.

Kansas City Police say Samuel Delozier, 32, refused to stop when police tried to pull him over late Saturday night. That led to a chase through the northeastern part of the city.

Delozier's vehicle crashed into a silver Chevy Impala when he blew through a stop sign at the intersection of Smart Avenue and Monroe, police said. The Impala smashed into a rock retaining wall and its driver, Thomas Colatrella, was killed.

Officers initially tried to stop Delozier because his truck was connected to an aggravated assault that took place the night before, the KCPD said. Delozier was arrested at the scene.
