The Missouri Department of Transportation finished removing barriers and barrels Wednesday morning, allowing southbound traffic to cross the Missouri River on the Buck O'Neil Bridge.

The repair project began around May 1. Rehabilitation was finished about ten days ahead of the scheduled completion date of December 1.

The cost of the $6-million project was shared by Kansas City and the state of Missouri.
